The Full Story
Western Carolina University is a public university in Cullowhee, North Carolina. It is part of the University of North Carolina system. The fifth oldest institution of the sixteen four-year universities in the UNC system, WCU was founded to educate the people of the western North Carolina mountains.
The Program
Established in 1990, WCU Rugby is the schools oldest running club sport with the largest number of alumni of any other WCU club. The team won the Division III National Championship in 2002 beating Stonehill College (15-7).
The School
WCU provides more than 115 undergraduate majors and concentrations and more than 40 graduate programs with a focus on high-demand degrees including a variety of programs in engineering, science, healthcare, education, humanities, business and the arts.
