Lander rugby was founded as a club in the Fall of 2002 by biology professor Timothy "TD" Maze. Coach Maze led the program from it's founding till the transition of the club to an official sports team of Lander University in June of 2019. Lander University hired Buck Billings as the first full time rugby coach as the program moved under the leadership of the athletic's department.

Fall 2019 SRC 15's Champions - NSCRO Division Spring 2021 Collegiate Rugby Championships 13th place finish (3-2 record)
